Stop Asian Hate Social Impact T-shirt
I created a t-shirt design featuring an anthropomorphic teapot pouring tea into a cup. The design sends a message to stop racist attacks against Asians. The headline text above says to "Stop Asian Hate," and the headline text below directs viewers to stopaapihate.org, which is an organization that works to resolve these racial issues. I added eyes and a face mask to the teapot to anthropomorphize it. The teapot itself is pouring love rather than hate into the cup and suggests that hatred, not Asian people, is a virus. The cup has a heart on it to suggest that compassion and understanding are needed to resolve racial tensions.

In response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched the Stop AAPI Hate coalition on March 19, 2020.
